Every 72 hours, 4 satellites scan the territory of São José dos Campos, collecting images of risk areas, possible deforestation and environmental violations. São José is the first municipality in the country to innovatively use satellite monitoring technology for environmental control.
With the Observa Project, the City Hall takes care of the city by monitoring and curbing environmental degradation through a contract signed with the company Visiona Tecnologia Espacial, from São José.
In the early hours of this Sunday, Amazonia 1 is scheduled to be launched in India, a satellite that has 90% of the equipment manufactured by companies in São José, such as Cenic Engenharia, Orbital Engenharia,
Fibraforte Engenharia, Equatorial Eletrônica, Omnisys Engenharia and Equatorial Sistemas.
The first Brazilian satellite was born and raised in São José dos Campos, a source of pride for us, Joséenses.
Amazonia 1 is the first Earth observation satellite completely designed, integrated, tested and operated by Brazil, to monitor deforestation in the Amazon region and agriculture throughout the national territory.
From São José dos Campos to Brazil. Our city, the birthplace of this high technology, increasingly consolidates the concept of a Smart City, using technology to optimize urban mobility, improve security and public services.
We have 100% of the Municipal Civil Guard fleet of electric cars, a pioneering initiative in Brazil and the Americas. We are installing public Wi-Fi in schools, health units, sports centers, squares and parks. Smart traffic lights already work on a new system that uses cameras to identify, in real time, the flow of vehicles on the road and organize the traffic light timing.
We have the best security project in the country, which follows the SCaaS – Smart City as a Service concept, with 1,000 cameras with intelligence and facial recognition throughout the city.
Innovation, technology and sustainability are the driving forces behind public projects in São José dos Campos.
The high-tech heart of São José beats in the Technological Park. R$ 2.7 billion in investments were raised, with 84 resident companies and 68 startups and 2 thousand direct jobs generated, 7 universities, 4 business centers, 3 laboratories and 1 hub innovation and accelerator.
Startup São José is growing at full speed, in Parque da Cidade, attracting entrepreneurs and forming a large nucleus of creative engineering and innovation.
We are going to revolutionize public transport with the Green Line, an urban mobility project that will connect the city with electric buses. These are achievements that confirm the great vocation of São José and reinforce that cities that invest in technology and innovation can advance in solving the challenges of municipal management in Brazil.
