integrated and operated by Brazil, Amazonia 1 had the participation of seven companies located in S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 dos Campos in its development and production, generating employment and income in the city.<\/p><p>Of the group of companies, five of them are linked to the Brazilian aerospace cluster of the Technological Park, created and supported by the City of S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9. They are: AEL Sistemas, Equatorial Sistemas, Opto Eletr\u00f4nica, Fibraforte and Omnisys.<\/p><p>The companies Orbital Engenharia and Cenic, also based in S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9, were the other members of the satellite development project, led by Inpe (National Institute for Space Research) in partnership with the Brazilian Space Agency.<\/p><p>Amazonia 1 was successfully launched on Sunday by the PSLV (Polar Satellite Launcher Vehicle) launch vehicle from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, India.<\/p><p>The satellite is part of the so-called Amazon Mission, created to provide remote sensing data to observe and monitor deforestation, especially in the Amazon region.<\/p><p>The mission will also monitor agriculture throughout the national territory, in addition to providing data on the coastal region, water reservoirs, forests and environmental disasters.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-4518cd1\" data-id=\"4518cd1\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-385953a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"385953a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;ekit_we_effect_on&quot;:&quot;none&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Founded in 2001 in Jardim das Ind\u00fastrias in S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9, Orbital Engenharia manufactured the solar energy generator for the Amazonia 1, essential equipment for its operation.<\/p><p>\u201cWhen the satellite is injected into orbit, the solar panels need to come into operation. If they fail, it is the end of the mission\u201d, says Celio Vaz, founder of Orbital.<\/p><p>He worked for 17 years at INPE as a satellite engineer before creating the company.
